Pandemic vs Human power

We are all children of Mother Earth 

The giant  mountains, her enchanting crown

The endless carpet of land, her brown skin

Lush green Forests, her lungs 

The oceans and seas, depth in her eyes 

Serene blue  sky, her favorite gown 

Life of all forms in her arms 

Her own children 

From  animals in woods 

To the chirping birds 

From the Little worms

 To the Diverse creatures under water 

From humans beings 

To tiny insects 

She loves them all

No less , no more 

Her plentiful bounty, everyone to share 

Share of her pure love , everyone to claim 

All was well, 

Until one child tried to part 

Became greedy

Overpowering and bullying  

Intellect misused

The inseparable bonds with nature

Roots forgotten 

But mother is a mother 

Had to teach the kid a lesson 

To save her other children 

To gain back her integrity 

Lost helplessly, 

Had to punish her child 

To teach co-existence 

Curb selfishness

So one fine day

She locked him for a long-long time 

Until realization stuck 

Mending ways, came out the child 

Walking the lush green path of prosperity 

As forest fully flourished, in his absence.

During this pandemic 

Families are home

Aroma of fresh cooked food all-day

There is chit chat, board games

Hugging and cuddling 

Valuing life and human connect ,

Like never before 

Refining , the need from greed

There is stress, there is panic 

There is also resilience and power of love 

In rough times, there is no known or unknown

World is a single family 

Help comes from every corner 

Beyond boundaries, caste and gender

There shines humanity 

In the test of time, 

To emerge with the triumph of success 

To live and to let live
