There is something very beautiful about traveling. Some one rightly said, life's best lessons are obtained by reading good books or traveling to  places. The lessons one learns about life while exploring places, meeting various people, confronting diverse cultures, trying hands at local cuisines will be etched for lifetime.I was never a travel freak until my college days.Having a group of friends who can not rest their bum at home is the onset of going places. The six people in our group always would plan a semester holiday after our exams.A share of our pocket money(which was no easy task to gather) was always set for this one day trip we used to take together. What jolly days we had, each one of us packing food from our house and managing to have loads to fun with our medium budgets.(takes me back to those days:))

My husband, my best friend then was the one who mainly chalked out our plans. His zeal for travel and his passion to explore the entire world one day was a well known fact in the group. Thanks to my lucky stars for not only making my best friend my partner in life, but also his travel companion. After the travel bug bit me, wanderlust took over and there was no looking back since then.We were the couple who had just managed to take loan for the wedding expenses to entertain few thousand strangers, taking baby steps in our career then with the paychecks to just meet our ends decently.Despite accepting the bundle of troubles that came with inter-caste marriage and having a early wedding (read both at 23), we never let the lust to travel die.We together managed our meager savings then to quench our thirst to go places. We are not the ones who crave for luxuries. We never are particular to go to exotic places, booking 5 star hotels and going to costly hotels.Less is more best works for us.We love spending time in nature, with nature.Talk about a beach side walk, a trek on a hill, camping for star gazing, a never ending talk on the green meadow, a waterfall, a drink in a hammock lake side, we are all up for it.Nothing equals the joy of being with the nature and it's gorgeous elements.

Instead of a dignified and sophisticated dinner on a costly cruise we prefer to explore the local street food to the fullest and being comfortable in our skin. There is definitely something wonderful about this.Drive in our beloved royal enfield, car, by air, by train, by bus we have explored it all and wait, we love to try the combinations. One best lesson we have learnt about traveling is keeping our expectations low about a placing we are heading to.We just go there and make the most of it.Trust me, we have had our share of troubles and hiccups, but we did not compromise it for the fun we have together.

We try to keep each trip interesting and different than our previous ones.Once if we try a lazy vacation, once we are geared up for a adventurous one.If going by itinerary( rarely happens) is for one trip the other goes with out any plan laid out.Once a drive in rain and once trek in fog. After all we suck at keeping them monotonous. There are random trips which were planned midnight and we escape early morning.

Being in US for more than a year now, we have checked out many places in our bucket list. What can be the best time other than unemployment for sometime, to explore our passion.Numerous places to go and ample experiences to treasure for lifetime.Who wants to put all the money in gold, costly clothes, unnecessary show off to society when every penny invested in travel is so much worth it.My dream list of places-to-go is endless. The top most being my own country itself.Yes, I want to go visit every inch of India.Soak in the pride, heritage and beauty of  the place.

The common zeal keeps us going.A travel tales gets added to the treasure of our memory.Together we shall keep going until we can quench the thirst of our wander lust.

Rediscovering ourselves in  every place destiny takes us to.

Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comfort of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things – air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky – all things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it.” – Cesare Pavese

  2. What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
